Entrance to Black Heddon

Silky

The legend of Silky is well-known in these parts. She is reputed to be a woman in a silk dress that has been sighted walking amongst the trees in parts of the village. On some occassions her ghost supposedly stopped travellers and demanded a lift, whereas others claimed she jumped on the back of their horses.
